The Story Behind Our School
A Founder Who Believed in Education
In 1989, Muharrem Döveç laid the foundations of Döveç Group in Northern Cyprus with just a lorry and a bulldozer, driven by a determination to turn ambition into reality. Over more than 36 years, that modest beginning became one of the island's most trusted real estate groups, today spanning 16 group companies, over 4,000 homes delivered, and a presence felt across the region.
Yet Muharrem Döveç believed that structures alone cannot build a community; education is what truly shapes it. This school reflects the value the Döveç family places on that belief: a living legacy from a founder who understood that a company's most lasting investment is always in people.
Muharrem Dovec Ortaokulu bears his name not as a formality, but as a promise that the legacy we leave behind will be measured not in square metres, but in the generations who walk through these doors.

Muharrem Dovec Ortaokulu was built from the ground up entirely at Dovec Group's own expense, as part of the TRNC Ministry of National Education's 'Build a School Too' (Bir Okul da Sen Yap) initiative, and gifted free of charge to the Ministry. The school opened its doors one full year ahead of schedule.

School Opens Its Doors
September 15, 2025
Over 700 students were welcomed through its doors, and MDO was delivered one full year ahead of schedule.
